• Pay attention to the ramp traffic control.

• Utilize the acceleration lane, and then enter the main drive lane.

Driving on the Highway

• Selection of Lane: Small vehicles with engine displacement above 1000cc and are running at or above the speed limit at the section can run at the inner lane.

  --Sections with two lanes:

  • Vehicles can only take the inner lane temporarily on the condition of overtaking the other vehicles running at the same direction; otherwise, they should take the outside lane.

  • Small vehicles with exhaust volume over 1000cc can run at inner lane at the maximum of the speed limit.

  --Sections with triple lanes:

  • Large vehicles and slower vehicles with exhaust volume smaller than 1000cc or speed lower than 80 km/hr, can only take the middle lane temporarily on the condition of overtaking other vehicles running at the same direction. Otherwise, they should take outside land.

  • Small vehicles with exhaust volume over 1000cc can run at inner lane at the maximum of the speed limit.

  --Sections with four lanes:

  • Vehicles can only take the inner lane temporarily on the condition of overtaking the other vehicles running at the same direction; otherwise, they should take the outside lane.

  • Small vehicles with exhaust volume over 1000cc can run at inner lane at the maximum of the speed limit.

• Speed limit

  • Drivers should drive in accordance with the local speed limit.
  • Deceleration Sections: ramps, toll stations, construction sites.

  • Deceleration Conditions: In heavy fog, rain, the speed limit should be lower than 40 km/hr.

• Change Lane:
  Turn on the direction indicator light, look at the rear mirror, and make sure there are no other vehicles in the blind corner. Consider safety issues when changing the lane. If the distance is not enough, please do not drive into the lane. Flashing lights or honking to force the vehicles ahead to yield is prohibited.

• Shoulder (General vehicles are prohibited to drive there) Only ambulances, engineer trucks, police vans can drive on the shoulder when they're on duty. Break down vehicles waiting for rescue on the shoulder cannot stay there for over three hours.

• Vehicles with hazardous items
  Pay attention to diamond-shaped warning signs. Those vehicles can only run on the outside lane, and has to keep further distance from the vehicles ahead.

• Failure of handling

  • Drivers should have their breakdown vehicles slide away from the drive lane to the shoulder with double yellow lights flashing, and then place signs indicating vehicle breakdown 50-100 meters behind the site of accident.
  • In accident resulting in debris falling on the road, the driver should place signs indicating vehicle breakdown 50-100 meters behind the site of accident.

  • Do not throw away receipts and litter.

Drive away from the highway

• Drivers have to drive on outside lanes in advance, and then on deceleration lane and ramp. Please pay attention to the signs indicating exits.

• Drivers who want to exit the highway need to drive on the outside lanes in advance according to the sign indicating exit ahead, then drive away from the highway through the deceleration lane and the ramp. Please do not force your way into a line of driving vehicles, or stop at an outside lane and wait for your chance to cut into the line of vehicles exiting the highway.
